How Twitch Subscriptions Work
Twitch offers three paid subscription tiers that viewers can use to support their favorite streamers. Each tier provides different benefits to subscribers, including ad-free viewing, custom emotes, and chat badges.
When a viewer subscribes, the revenue is split between the streamer and Twitch. The split depends on your partner status - Affiliates typically get 50%, while Partners can negotiate up to 70% through the Partner Plus program.
Revenue Share Explained
Your revenue split with Twitch depends on your status and program level:
- Affiliates and standard Partners: 50% of subscription revenue
- Partner Plus Level 1: 60% of subscription revenue
- Partner Plus Level 2: 70% of subscription revenue
Subscription Tiers
Twitch offers three subscription tiers, each providing increasing benefits to subscribers and revenue to streamers:
Tier 1
The standard subscription at $5.99/month. Most common tier with basic emotes and benefits.
Tier 2
Premium tier at $9.99/month. Includes additional emotes and benefits.
Tier 3
Top tier at $24.99/month. Maximum emotes and supporter recognition.
Prime Gaming Subscriptions
Prime Gaming members (included with Amazon Prime) get one free channel subscription per month. Streamers earn the same as a Tier 1 sub from Prime subscriptions. This is a great way for viewers with Prime to support streamers at no extra cost.
